Two quintessentially summer works embrace one another at this concert by the Danubia Orchestra - quite literally, as closely as possible. Their movements are performed in alternating order, offering fascinating reflections between pieces that share remarkably similar themes while differing greatly in musical style. In Max Richter’s acclaimed reimagining, Vivaldi’s beloved masterpiece is interwoven with Beethoven’s most idyllic symphony, the Symphony No. 6 “Pastoral”, promising a fresh perspective on these well-known works. With commentary by the concert’s conductor, Máté Hámori, the evening becomes a rich yet refreshing summer experience.
The concert lasts approximately 75 minutes and is performed without an intermission.
