On the Night of the Organs in Miskolc, flames are lit not only in the soul but also within the church itself: a candlelit organ concert awaits the audience in the magical, historic setting of the Avas Church.
Ádám Tabajdi is one of the outstanding young Hungarian organists of today. He has performed in many of Hungary’s major cathedrals as well as in the concert hall of the Müpa Budapest. International audiences have also heard him in venues such as the Royal Chapel of Versailles, the Kallio Church in Helsinki, the Tallinn Cathedral, and the Chartres Cathedral. His first album was released in 2020 and features symphonic orchestral transcriptions.
Violinist Eszter Osztrosits is an outstanding chamber musician of the younger Hungarian generation. She regularly performs both as a soloist and chamber musician in concert series in Hungary and abroad. In 2018 she was awarded the prestigious Fischer Annie Scholarship.
The married musicians’ joint program promises a truly special concert experience, as three of the five works to be performed were originally written for different instruments. The program travels through several musical eras—from the lively, energetic style of the Baroque, through the emotional intensity and passion of Romanticism, to the sound world of the 20th century. The selection highlights the many characters of the dialogue between violin and organ, united by a balance of lyrical expression and virtuosity.
The church’s impressive acoustics and the remarkable harmony between the two instruments promise an unforgettable, intimate, and uplifting musical experience.
