Deng Houjiyuan was born in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, in 2009. He began studying piano with his father at the age of four, continued his training with Professor Petrov from the age of eight, and since the age of eleven has studied under Professor Zhou Yunqing of the Central Conservatory of Music.

Awards and Achievements:

  • 2017: First Prize in the Piano Solo (Children’s Category), Brandenburg Music Competition
  • June 2018: Invited and sponsored by the Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan to perform at the closing ceremony of the Astana International Music Festival
  • 2019: Fifth Prize in Group A (Children’s Category), Shanghai Conservatory of Music Affiliated Middle School International Youth Piano Showcase
  • 2021: Special Grand Prize in the Northeast Regional Division of the Xinghai Cup National Youth Piano Competition
  • 2023: Chinese Works Award in Group A2 (Amateur Children’s Category) at the Lang Lang Futian Cup Piano Competition in Shenzhen; also performed at the closing ceremony
  • 2023: Third Prize in Professional Group A at the 11th Steinway National Youth Piano Competition
  • 2024: Fourth Prize in Professional Junior Group A and the Commissioned Work Award at the Finals of the Xinghai Cup National Piano Competition
  • 2024: Recipient of the 9th Fan Jianqin Memorial Scholarship
  • 2024: First Prize in Group A at the 19th “Academy Cup” Piano Concerto Competition of the Central Conservatory of Music
  • May 2025: Performed Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in C Major with the Central Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra at the Opera Hall of the Central Conservatory of Music
  • October 2025: Advanced to the Semi-Finals of the 15th China Golden Bell Award for Music Competition
