Péter Marics

Péter Marics (Marics Peti), born on October 1, 1996, in Budapest, is a two-time Fonogram Award-winning singer and songwriter, and one of the founding frontmen of the band VALMAR. In addition to his music career, he is also building a presence in television and film.

He was born in Budapest as the third child in his family. His mother is a member of the chorus of the Budapest Operetta Theatre, and his father is a teacher with a degree in jazz studies, so music played an important role in his life from an early age. As a child, he was actively involved in sports, playing football in the youth teams of Budapest Honvéd, and later in the county third division as an adult. He gave up football in 2016. In high school, he graduated with advanced-level exams in Spanish and physical education, and was admitted to the Hungarian University of Sports Science to study sports management, but did not complete his studies due to his music career.

In 2018, he founded the duo VALMAR with his childhood friend Milán Valkusz. Their first major success came with the song “Visz a vérem”, followed by “Úristen”, which brought them nationwide recognition. Over the years, VALMAR has become one of the defining acts of Hungarian pop music, with numerous hit songs and sold-out concerts.

Marics Peti has also explored the world of television. He appeared in the show Sztárban Sztár, and in 2022 he competed alongside Milán Valkusz in the third season of TV2’s Asia Express. In 2023, he participated in the fourth season of Dancing with the Stars, and in 2024 he became one of the hosts of the TV2 game show Zsákbamacska. In the same year, he also appeared as a judge on the talent show Megasztár, alongside Magdi Rúzsa, Ferenc Molnár “Caramel,” Dávid Marsalkó, and Szabolcs Papp.

In addition to music, he has also pursued acting. In 2018, he appeared in the youth series Holnap Tali! as the character Márk. In 2021, he had a recurring role as Zsombor in the television series Mintaapák. Most recently, in 2024, he played the role of Gábor in the film How Could I Live Without You?, in which several songs by Ferenc Demjén were performed in his interpretation.
