Cser Ádám

Ádám Cser conductor and composer graduated from the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in 2010 as a student of András Ligeti. Over the course of his studies, as an Erasmaus student he attended the Vienna Music Academy where Mark Stringer was his professor. In 2008 and in 2011 he took part in the conductor master courses of Zoltán Peskó while in 2009 he attended the master class held by Péter Eötvös. He started composing at the age of 11. As a composer, his creativity is focused on choral works, chamber and symphony pieces. Recently, he has been working on his Symphony No 5. Some of his works including Quia...Lux aeterna and Psalmus 70 have been recorded lately.

Since 2012 he has filled the music director position at the Miskolc National Theatre, in addition to conducting the Szolnok City Symphony Orchestra. In the last few years he has worked with the Symphony Orchestra of Hungarian Radio, the Concerto Budapest and the Danubia Orchestra Óbuda as well. In April of 2011 Ádám Cser was invited to the master course of Bernard Haitink at the Lucerne Spring Festival. He was among those seven participants who had been selected from 170 applicants to conduct the Lucerne Festival Orchestra. In July, at the course of Jorma Panula, he conducted the Casa da Música Orchestra from Porto. In May of 2011 achieved 11th place at the Memphis Conducting Competition. In May of 2012 Cser was invited by Lorin Maazel to the Malko Conducting Competition, held in Copenhagen, and in September the same year, he was requested to take part in the final of the Donatella Flick Conducting Competition in London. As an assistant of Juanjo Mena conductor, Ádám Cser worked for the Bergen and Manchester BBC Orchestras. In december of 2016 he had the opportunity to work as an assistant conductor with Iván Fischer, the Budapest Festival Orchestra and the soiloists, Leonidas Kavakos and Daniel Barmboim. As a conductor and music director, Ádám Cser contributed to a number of drama productions.
